Friday I had an assessment center for a job with dyson. We had to do a presentation on an object which represents us. I chose the original mini. What an iconic design and engineering feat, I thought it was only fitting to pick a successful British design to represent me and to present to a company such a dyson. I got so excited about the mini and just how cool it is I decided to do a desktop background - representing everything that is great about the mini. I wanted to give it a retro feel which gave me chance to use some cool Photoshop actions. You can download the polaroid action and retro action. For those who are interested this is why I'm like the mini... The mini came about due to rising fuel prices and to compete with the popular German bubble car. It adapts to changes in the market and is very competitive. It looks small and cute but It's actually a mean machine to drive and really is a lot of fun. The mini is a considered logical design. It can be easily customised by the person who has a mini, but the stable considered engineering is always underneath. The mini is successful - as a rally car it would not be beaten!

It's been a long time
It has been a very, very long time since I last posted. Over a year in fact - but I do have a reasonable explanation for this. I just completed my final year of my degree and graduated yesterday so have been extremely busy.
But I'm done now and I'm hunting for a job. I though I'd share with you some of the things I've done over the past year.
This is avo - my final year major project. It's a fish tank which maintains itself. The design was featured in new design magazine (issue 90) which is very exciting for me.
I've also got an online portfolio. Where you can see some of my industrial design work www.susanshelleydesign.com
